Basalt is defined by its mineral content and texture, and physical descriptions without mineralogical context may be unreliable in some circumstances. Basalt is usually grey to black in colour and although usually characterised as “dark”, basaltic rocks exhibit a wide range of shading due to regional geochemical processes.
These include counter tops, floor tiles, paving stone, curbing, stair treads, building veneer and cemetery monuments. Basalt can be supplied by us in various types of surface finish like Polished, Honed, Riverwash, Bush hammered, Antique finish, natural etc. in sizes and thickness as required.
Available in various forms viz. random slabs; polished, calibrated and beveled tiles; cut-to-size blocks; pavers, flagstone, fascia tiles and more.
|Random slabs in thickness of 2 cm & 3 cm||9″x5″ and 9″x26″|
|Polished, Calibrated & Beveled Tiles||12″x12″x3/8″ and 12″x24″x1/2″|
|Cut-to-size tiles in thickness of 2 cm & 3 cm||12″ x 12″ / 12″ x 16″ / 18″ x 18″ / 24″ x 24″|
|Polished In-line Countertops||26″ x 84″, 96″, 108″|
|Polished Island Countertops||48″ x 84″, 96″|
We can also supply basalt stones in various other sizes and specifications to fulfill individual customer requirements. The given sizes and thickness are an approximation only and the stone pieces may vary in color, tone, marking and texture.
As a building material, Basalt stone is widely used wall cladding, roofing, flooring and a variety of other interior and exterior applications. The stone shows consistency in color and texture and the hardness of Basalt lends it excellent wear.
